3 for 3

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

I just purchased my ticket for my next trip to Brazil in 10 days. That means in 2012 so far, I will have been in Brazil in January, February and March for a total of some four weeks.

While the travel aspect is both painful and time-consuming, the destination (on both ends) is a joy for me: I love going to Brazil and I love coming home to my honey.

Certainly doesn’t hurt my frequent flyer status either.

The First Theater

Monday, February 20th, 2012

In a conversation with a renowned LDS drama professor last week, it was mentioned that the presentation of  the mysteries in the ancient world evolved into the ceremonies in the temple and was for all intents and purposes, “the first theater”.

My honey — ever the skeptic — said, “Do they use smoke in the temple? Because I know they use mirrors.”

I performed my best acting to-date and kept a straight face, though I was dying to laugh aloud.

The professor seemed not to have understood and kept talking.

Two More Years under the Belt

And in about 45 minutes, I’ll be heading back to the SLC airport for the flight to Chicago, which connects me to my flight to São Paulo. It’s going to be a busy weekend and week, as we upgrade this large airline to a newer version of their core reservations system — a project on which I have been engaged for almost two years.

Hmmm. Another two-year mission in Brazil. This one certainly pays better.
