It feels like summer has finally arrived. Last night was a toss-and-turn and kick-off-the-covers sort of night as it felt too warm to sleep comfortably — even with the windows open.

For the most part, it appears our weeks of daily rain is over and the temps are now forecasted to be in the 80s and 90s going forward. Back to the “high desert”.

The big family reunion is this weekend in Thermopolis, Wyoming. We look forward to this even every year as an opportunity to catch up with the extended family.

For those interested, here is the mockup of the t-shirt I designed for this year’s event:

My older brother found himself, but with that “distinctly-shaped” head, it wasn’t too hard.

For the rest of the family, here is the original image from whence the silhouettes came from in the logo in the previous post:

Something Like This?

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

I started last weekend working on a logo/t-shirt for this year’s family reunion in late June.

This is what I’ve got so far. The image is based on two things: The group photo of our family at last year’s reunion and the London Underground logotype. No significance to the latter except that I like the simple design.

If you’re a family member reading this, see if you can pick yourself out of the lineup!

Tweaks

I made some cosmetic and other changes to this blog Saturday — some minor, some not so much.

For the most part, I made the blog the focus of my main LGS page and lost the less-used pages (humor, links, writings, etc.).

Simplification, generally.

Great Day

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Absolutely fabulous day watching the Inauguration today at work. We all gathered in the break room, had plenty to eat with carry-in food and sat in awe as we watched Barack Obama take the oath as 44th President of the United States of America.

We stood when the crowd stood, applauded when they applauded and showed emotion when appropriate.

A good day with lots of pride, hope and a new resolve to work together to solve the large issues we face today.

In honor of this day, you, too, can Obama-ize yourself at THIS LINK
