This site was started as a way to share my experiences as:
a) a convert to the LDS Church
b) a returned missionary
c) a BYU graduate
d) a happily-partnered gay man
The reason for sharing is to help others understand that being gay is not the choice; being Mormon is.
The LDS Church has been a very strong and powerful influence for good in my life.
My early years as a young convert, my family’s conversion to the Church, my mission to Brazil and my educational opportunities at BYU were life-changing.
My subsequent life as an openly-gay man — with a partner of over twenty years — has been an equally liberating and enlightening experience. It is that journey that I lived “through a glass darkly” into the “greater light” that I share here.
Feel free to email me with comments.
